MONTRÉAL, September 16, 2026 – As part of its twice-yearly schedule review, VIA Rail will adjust selected services in the Québec City-Windsor corridor, effective October 25, 2026.
The revised schedule will better align service with passenger demand, strengthen network resilience and support more reliable and predictable service.
Train | Before October 25 | Effective October 25 |
43 | Monday, Friday and Sunday | Friday and Sunday |
44 | Monday to Friday and Sunday | Tuesday only |
53 | Daily | Daily except Saturday |
54 | Daily | Daily except Sunday |
55 | No service | Daily |
641 | Monday to Thursday | Service ends |
644 | Monday to Thursday and Saturday | Daily |
645 | Tuesday to Friday and Sunday | Wednesday only |
647 | Friday and Sunday | Sunday only |
Overall, the revised schedule will result in an average of one fewer daily train between Ottawa and Toronto.
Saturday service on Trains 68 and 69 will be replaced by new departures on Trains 668 and 669. Train 641 service will end, but passengers will continue to have an early-morning option to Toronto on Train 41, which will depart Ottawa earlier at 4:56 a.m. and arrive in Toronto at 9:37 a.m.
Additionally, VIA Rail will no longer serve Guildwood and Malton to improve overall travel times, given their proximity to Toronto Union Station and easy access to GO Transit and other local transit services.

Passengers with existing bookings affected by these changes will be contacted directly in the coming days and offered rebooking or a full refund at no additional cost.
