VIA RAIL WINTER SERVICE SCHEDULE

VIA Rail announced that, effective October 25, 2026, a temporary Winter schedule will be implemented.  

VIA Rail reviews its schedules twice a year to account for passenger demand, operational requirements, and seasonal conditions. The Winter schedule has been designed to help VIA Rail better prepare for and respond to winter conditions, while maintaining safe and reliable service for Canadians throughout the season. 

VIA Rail recognizes that, for some communities, this temporary schedule will result in reduced connectivity during the winter months. VIA Rail is committed to keeping passengers and local communities informed as the new schedule is implemented. 

VIA Rail service will transition to a Summer schedule in spring 2027.
